Zovirax Cream is for everybody. There may be certain people, for example people with bacterial or viral infections, and there may be certain people, for example viruses, that cannot be cured with the right ointment.
This cream should not be used in any other eye care area without first consulting your healthcare provider.
Zovirax Cream contains Aciclovir 5% ointment. This is the amount that aciclovir is present in the ointment. It is important to keep in mind that this amount must be consistent with your overall ointment. Apply Zovirax Cream twice a day at approximately four hourly intervals.
Zovirax Cream works in the same way as other ointments used for treating eye infections. It works by killing the bacteria and fungi that cause the infection. Aciclovir works by stopping the growth of the fungus, which allows the infection to heal. This fungus is called Acyclovir.

Do not drink alcohol while taking Zovirax Cream 10g. If you develop severe headaches, flushing, or swollen eyes or face contact your doctor immediately, contact your doctor. Use sparingly and only when clearly needed. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant unless by your doctor's advice. Inform your doctor of any known allergies to other medications, anti-diabetic drugs, or other treatments for hay fever or any other viral infection.
Do not use if you are an immunocompromised patient, have kidney, liver, or heart problems, outer lips, sudden heat stroke (e.g. on a hot day), allergic skin diseases, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE, beginning in the third or fourth month of pregnancy and continuing), uncontrolled diabetes, a weakened immune system, if being exposed to sunlight or tanning beds (e.g. during the winter or earlier in the year), if pregnant, or if you suffer from any of the following to affect the developing baby: Unusually large eyes, ears, teeth, stomach or abdominal pain, diarrhea that is severe, changes in your vaginal or oral anatomy (e.g. Peyronie disease, bronchospasm, or scarring), sleep apnea, or severe liver or kidney disease. Apply the cream consistently for at least 4 hours (this can be up to 12 hours) before your next dose. Use sparingly and when clearly need it. When using the cream consistently, and at the same time(s) do not let anyone else touch the affected area, contact your doctor.
Zovirax Cream 10g should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and other healthy water should be avoided during or after dosing.
